I can do this!

So I have decided not to do Weight Watchers. I can do this on my own. I sat down this weekend and planned out our menu for the week and I have everything to make all the meals so I can't say I need this and that so let's just go out to eat. I have done really well at eating during the day also. I still want to work on writing things down so I can track my calorie intake each day.
I got up at 4:30 yesterday and made it to the gym by 5am. It felt good to get up and get moving that early. I really am enjoying the gym membership more then I thought I was going to. Tonight I will be able to go to the Stoney Point Y while Ellie is at church.
I am noticing that my pants are getting baggy again too! I can do this!!

Eating problems:(

OK so I have this workout thing down. I feel great getting back into working out everyday. It is our new family thing and I love it!!!
Now for the eating part. My cousin asked me to join her at Weight Watchers and I am really hesitating because I have tried it so many times, but always fail. I am terrible at tracking my food intake. I just keep looking at my log and try and figure out how much more I can eat. I know there is a new Weight Watchers that is supposed to work better so maybe I would succeed this time. The past couple of days I have been tracking my food and calculating my points under the old Weight Watchers system and I feel like I am starving myself. My problem is that I am not choosing the correct foods. I really think I should try the new method. Maybe I will sign up and go with my cousin because then I would be more motivated to eat right. I will let you know within the next week what my decision is.
I need to do something to reach my goals by July, because my class reunion is quickly approaching and I don't want to look like this when I see everyone again.

Feeling great!

Ah well it is Monday morning and this is where I usually say that I am going to start working on my weight loss again, but not today. I have worked out 4 days in a row now and even began lifting weights again yesterday! It felt great to lift. I loved lifting weights in High School and that is how I got my nickname, Lethal. I printed off an assessment at the YMCA and will complete that the enter that in the computer and it will create personalized workout for me to follow.
It was really fun on Saturday going to the gym with my husband and my son. They both walked with me on the track and my son was able to run some also. We also rode the bikes and I worked out on the Elliptical also. When we were done working out we shot some hoops. I think this will be great for all of us and be a great way to spend more time together. It makes my workouts a lot more fun! So thanks to my family for helping me on my new journey.
I only have to work until 10:30 this morning then my husband and I are off to the gym. Then I may go mall walking tonight with my friend Tara too! I am going to do this with no more excuses!!

Wow 2 days in a row! You are all so lucky;)

I went to the Y last night. I kept trying to make excuses not to go. I was so nervous to go in front of all those people and work out. It was so busy when I got there that there weren't many options for equipment. I found a spot to do some stretching and then decided to just walk the track. I started off with a nice even pace to get warmed up, then started to pick up the pace. I was walking as fast as I could go without breaking into a run, but all of the old people were still passing me:( I need to get my stamina built back up and try getting some speed. I walked at a pace that I thought was fast for about 30 minutes and then found a recumbent bike to jump on for 20 minutes. I walked a couple more slower laps and then went to stretch again. I felt good when I was done and I am not sore at all today.
I am hoping when I go today when I get off work at 10:30 that maybe it won't be so busy. Maybe I will see if there is a class I can join today. I might even go again this afternoon after I pick up the kids from school. I am really pumped!!
The only problem I noticed last night was that every time a great song came on my MP3 Player that I wanted to dance and do some fist pumps:) I think people would laugh if I broke out into a little jiggy as I was walking around, don't you?

Anybody miss me?

Hello, Hello, Hello, Is anybody out there?
Sorry just singing a Pink Floyd for ya this morning. Hope everyone is having a great New Year so far. I am ready to get back in a groove and to get this weight off. I have a lot of work to do so I hope you can all keep up.
So my husband and I decided we are going to finally give in and spend the money to join a gym. We have been shopping most of the week for the right gym and we have decided on the YMCA. We were looking for somewhere the would accommodate the whole family. My son was very excited that we choose the Y so he can go run on the indoor track. I am looking forward to trying some of the classes and to be able to do some swimming. My husband has never belonged to a gym before so he is really excited to start lifting weights.
I have made a new goal for the new year. Well at least my long term goal. I will be having my 20 year class reunion this summer and I would like to be at around 190 lbs by July for that. That is 50 lbs and only about 7 lbs a month. 7 lbs a month does not sound bad at all. Now I just need to kick it into gear and get my weight off.
I just had my birthday at the beginning of the year too so I am one year closer to 40:( So here is to a new year and a new age. I will try and keep up on this blog a lot better too for you all to follow along on this journey.
